December 2018 CALL TO ACTION

CinC Sends

Our Call to Action this month is five-fold.  The first three focus on calls to Congress to support President Trump's agenda items of (1) funding the wall, (2) giving federal agencies more latitude to discipline/fire under-performing or misbehaving employees and (3) to refuse to over-ride the President's expected veto of the spending bills.  These come from our friends at Americans for Limited Government (ALG).

The 4th action is to contact the President and urge him to stand strong on the issue of building the border wall; this comes to us courtesy of Oath Keepers.

The 5th action is to visit the GoFundMe page entitled We The People Will Fund The Wall and add your donation.  In three days they've raised over $4 million, and if each person who voted for President Trump would donate only $80.00 the goal would be met.

The links appear below with more background that will take you to the site where you can sign on to each action or make the call to encourage the President.

Your support and engagement is deeply appreciated!

Click here to tell Congress to attach the #FireTheSwamp rider to the December spending bill!

With Nancy Pelosi poised to assume control of the House of Representatives in January, this could be the last chance to rein in the out of control federal bureaucracy. By attaching a rider to the December federal government spending bill, Congress could make it easier to fire bad federal employees.

The MERIT Act would expedite the removal of federal employees who have engaged in misconduct or are simply not performing, while limiting appeals to 30 days. A system that was initially designed to stop political manipulation of the civil service has become an unhealthy protection of bad behavior. This rider would institute the same reforms that were implemented at the Veterans Administration to several other elements of the federal bureaucracy.

The time to act is now. You know what to do! Let’s get on and urge Congress to attach the MERIT Act to the December spending bill.

Under current civil service rules, it can take years just to complete a single firing, resulting in a pathetic 0.5 percent firing rate which lags far below that of the private sector. Under the VA reforms, firings rose 26 percent initially in the department, and real accountability has been restored. The same could be done for more of the federal workforce. If the MERIT Act passes now as a budget rider, Congress will have at least created an opportunity to drain the swamp rather than wallowing in it.

Let’s keep fighting!

Click here to tell Congress to build the wall now!

President Donald Trump in a Dec. 11 meeting in the Oval Office with soon-to-be House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has threatened to shut down the government if the southern border wall is not funded. “If we don’t have border security, we’ll shut down the government.  This country needs border security… The wall is a part of border security,” Trump said.

Trump wants the wall he campaigned on, and he’s been waiting for quite a while.

After the 2016 election, Congressional Republicans gathered in Philadelphia to map out their agenda, where it was announced by then-incoming House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) that Congress with Republican majorities would fund the southern border wall at $12 billion to $15 billion, calling it one of the most important promises the President had made in the campaign.

Now, two years later, and all Congress has to show for it is the $1.6 billion supplemental the administration requested in 2017, which didn’t pass until 2018, and you have migrant caravans continuing to charge the border on a seasonal basis.

Prior to the 2018 midterms, Trump had signaled he’d be willing to let non-essential funding for the government to lapse, only to be countered by Ryan and McConnell not to pursue a shutdown strategy for fear of losing the House majority.

On Twitter on May 2, 2017, Trump wrote, “Our country needs a good ‘shutdown’ in September to fix [the] mess.”

That didn’t end up happening.

So, the wall was not finished, and House Republicans lost their majority anyway in 2018. Trump tried it the GOP Congress’ way. They failed. Now, Trump is ready to do it his way. He has thrown down the shutdown marker, and he needs to stand his ground. This is what he was elected to do.

You know what to do! Let’s get on and urge Congress to build the southern border wall now in the December funding bill!

Key Trump ally Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) stood by Trump on his wall demand, telling reporters, “If I were the president, I would dig in and not give in.”

Graham is right. He has long argued that Republicans always give in on government spending issues whenever there is a partial government shutdown, and that they need to use their leverage. It appears with Trump there finally is a president who is willing to do what it takes to win a key part of his agenda.

It’s about time.

The American people are fortunate to finally have an administration that is committed to border security, but to curb illegal immigration more fully, the wall is needed. Congress needs to build the wall now and stop making excuses, kicking the can down the road and trying to run out the clock on the Trump legislative agenda.

Let’s keep fighting!

Click here to urge Congress to sustain President Trump’s vetoes on spending bills!

There won’t be any vote on wall funding this year or any year at the rate we’re going — because nobody in Congressional leadership is apparently willing to stick it in a bill and simply vote on it. Even to defeat it.

If at the end of the day as appears likely, Congress once again does not produce a spending bill that includes wall funding — right now the White House is demanding $5 billion for construction but it appears the only consensus on Capitol Hill is to kick the can via a short-term funding bill — then President Trump still has one card to play.

And that is to veto the spending bill and force Congress to vote on overriding it. A vote to sustain the veto is a vote for the wall, and a vote to override the veto is a vote against the wall.

Then, to get the wall, Trump doesn’t need 218 votes in the House, he needs 146. And he doesn’t need 60 votes in the Senate, he needs 34. That’s what the separation of powers provides for.

You know what to do! Let’s get on and urge Congress sustain President Trump’s vetoes on spending bills!

President Ronald Reagan got tax cuts and defense spending increases by blocking spending bills, resulting in a total of eight partial government shutdowns. And he had the votes to sustain vetoes when he needed. In 1983, 146 House members signed a lettersaying they would vote to sustain presidential vetoes on funding bills.

In the end, there may be no other way to force a vote on the wall that means anything — or anything else. On Dec. 11 in the Oval Office, President Trump declared, “If we don’t have border security, we’ll shut down the government.  This country needs border security… The wall is a part of border security.”

Now Trump has to follow through. With the border being flooded with the migrant caravan and drugs and gangs continuing to pour in, and in the meantime, lives continue to be lost in human trafficking, there must be a deterrent against making the journey in the first place. The border needs to be secured, and the wall is a part of that.

To get there, Trump needs a credible threat to use the veto get his priorities enacted. Let’s urge Congress that they need to sustain that veto.

Let’s keep fighting!

Urge President Trump to Stand Firm on the Border Wall!

Please contact the White House immediately by phone, email, or both, and urge President Trump to stand firm on shutting down the government, by refusing to sign a budget bill, until he gets funding for the border wall!  He must stand firm, when it is clear Congress (both parties!) will not.  He must lead the way, by being firm, to pressure the Republicans in Congress to take a stand and in turn pressure the Democrats to cooperate on getting the funding we need for a wall.

No funding for a wall?  Then no funding bill signed, even if that means a government shutdown. That needs to be what he actually does, after having told Pelosi and Schumer that is what he will do. He needs to stand by his word.

As President Trump himself has said, a wall on our border with Mexico is essential to national security. It is not optional. It is essential. Without a wall, there is no effective border. Without an effective border, this nation will not survive. Urge him to stand firm.

In addition to the very real national security concerns, this is also about the integrity of our political system. As Ann Coulter recently said,“They’re about to have a country where no Republican will ever be elected president again.” If President Trump does not stand firm on this and get the wall built (with sufficient personnel to man it), even more illegal aliens will swarm in. The Democratic Party will use them to illegitimately gain additional fraudulent non-citizen voters (as they already have). The Democrats will obtain a permanent illegitimate lock on political power, and especially over electoral college votes, such as in the key state of Texas.

The quisling Republicans in Congress are committing political suicide, and killing our ability to self-govern while they're at it. Every illegitimate, fraudulent vote by an illegal alien disenfranchises an American citizen. It has to be stopped, and a border wall is needed to stop it (along with deportations). It is now or never for President Trump and the GOP to finally take a hard stand.

Israel has a border wall to keep potentially dangerous people from illegally entering that nation from Lebanon. Why can't the United States have a border wall to keep potentially dangerous people from illegally entering our nation from Mexico?

If President Trump does not stand firm on this, then he will have failed to keep his most important campaign promise to the American people.

Make sure he understands how you feel. Tell him!

The government has accepted large private donations before, most recently a billionaire donated $7.5 Million  to fund half of the Washington Monument repairs in 2012; this is no different.

Like a  majority of those American citizens who voted to elect President Donald J. Trump, we voted for him to Make America Great Again. President Trump’s main campaign promise was to BUILD THE WALL. And as he’s followed through on just about every promise so far, this wall project needs to be completed still.

As a veteran who has given so much, 3 limbs, I feel deeply invested to this nation to ensure future generations have everything we have today. Too many Americans have been murdered by illegal aliens and too many illegals are taking advantage of the United States taxpayers with no means of ever contributing to our society.

I have grandparents who immigrated to America legally, they did it the correct way and it's time we uphold our laws, and get this wall BUILT! It’s up to Americans to help out and pitch in to get this project rolling.

“If the 63 million people who voted for Trump each pledge $80, we can build the wall.” That equates to roughly 5Billion Dollars, even if we get half, that's half the wall. We can do this.

Democrats are going to stall this project by every means possible and play political games to ensure President Trump doesn’t get his victory. They'd rather see President Trump fail, than see America succeed.  However, if we can fund a large portion of this wall, it will jumpstart things and will be less money Trump has to secure from our politicians.

This won’t be easy, but it’s our duty as citizens. This needs to be shared every single day by each of you on social media. We can do it, and we can help President Trump make America safe again!

The Gary Sinise Foundation also built me and my family a home. Do your research before donating, and contact me if you have any questions.

• How will we get the funds to the right place? We have contacted the Trump Administration to secure a point of contact where all the funds will go upon completion. When we get this information secured we will update. We have many very high level contacts already helping.

• Republican Representative Steven Palazzo of Mississippi is introducing legislation to direct the Treasury Department to issue government savings bonds which would allow us to fund the wall with this method. This is just one option, there are others on the table being discussed.

• 100% of your donations will go to the Trump Wall.

• We are working with a law firm on a legal document that will bind the government to using the funds for the border wall itself, nothing else.

• We will hold all funds and not release a single penny until we have all legal aspects covered to ensure our money goes only to the wall.

• If we don’t reach our goal or come significantly close we will refund every single penny.  We are working on a time frame to achieve.

LET'S GET THIS WALL BUILT! And make America Safe Again!
